(Emmetsburg)– The annual St. Patrick’s celebration is coming up this weekend in Emmetsburg. Stepahie Mehan of Emmetsburg Irish Gifts says things get underway at 9:30 am Friday (March 13th) with the Chamber Coffee…
“Where you can meet our Irish dignitary. We have the famous bean bag tournament that will begin at 5:30 that night which we still have some spots open for that to sign up; and we have live music with Kayla Daniels starting at 9:00 pm in the heated tent.”
Mehan says Saturday (March 14th) is jammed pack with things going on…
“The O’Round The Loch Scholarship Run starts at 8:30 out at Iowa Lakes Community College. You can head on over after you run we have our famous St. Pat’s Kid’s Zone in the heated tent from 9:00 to 11:00 with the pedal tractor pull taking place in there. We have a touch a truck that will be on 10th Street straight across from the Sheriff’s Office that will run from 10:30 until 12:00. There’s craft beer tasting in the heated tent from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm. You can head on down to the fire station to watch some chainsaw wood carving arts be done. At 1:30 we’ll host our famous St. Patrick’s Day Parade that will start at the same place as last year down by the fire station and run south on main street. There’s free movies-Zootopia 2 will be showing at the movie theatre beginning at 3:30. The Social Gathering of the Clan will be at the fire station.”
Mehan says there will be additional live Irish music Saturday evening along with raffle drawings.
The St. Patrick’s celebration concludes Sunday (March 15th) with a pancake breakfast and a trap shoot.
