Emmet County Traffic Stops Result In Drug Arrests

(Estherville)– The Emmet County Sheriff’s Office has released details into two separate traffic stops that resulted in arrests last week.

The first was on June 6th near Dolliver involving a vehicle driven by 32-year-old Trey Rawls of Hazelhurst, Georgia. Authorities discovered Rawls was allegedly driving with a suspended driver’s license. Further investigation turned up controlled substances and drug paraphernalia. Rawls and a passenger, 23-year-old Tyreek Smith of Camden, Alabama, were both arrested. Rawls was charged with possession of a controlled substance…marijuana…2nd offense, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving with a suspended license. Smith was charged with possession of a controlled substance…marijuana…2nd offense and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The other stop was made June 7th near Gruver. Upon investigating it was determined the driver, 30-year-old Clay Williams of Milford, had a barred license. The deputy also observed possible drug paraphernalia in the vehicle. A K-9 indicated the presence of narcotics in the vehicle. A subsequent search turned up controlled substances and paraphernalia. Williams and a passenger, 38-year-old Abriel Dean of Harris, were both arrested. Williams was charged with possession of a controlled substance…marijuana…1st offense, possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, unlawful possession of prescription drugs, possession of a controlled substance…methamphetamine…1st offense, possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving with a barred license, failure to provide proof of financial security, failure to obey a traffic control device and improper brake lamp. Dean was charged with possession of a controlled substance…marijuana…1st offense, possession of a controlled substance…methamphetamine…1st offense, unlawful possession of a prescription drug, possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, possession of marijuana with intent to deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia.
