(Estherville)– A Louisiana man faces charges after being pulled over for speeding this past Friday in Emmet county. The Emmet County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy pulled over a vehicle driven by 33-year-old Antonio Babineaux of Opelousas, Louisiana for traveling 76 mph in the 2000 block of 490th Avenue. Upon investigating it was found that Babineaux didn’t have a valid driver’s license and that he was wanted by the state of Texas. Babineaux was also found to be in possession of a stolen handgun and a controlled substance. He was arrested and booked into the Emmet county jail on charges of possessing a stolen firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, trafficking in stolen weapons…1st offense, possession of marijuana…1st offense, no driver’s license, and speeding.
