(Estherville)– A traffic stop Wednesday on the west edge of Estherville landed a man in jail on multiple drug charges.
Estherville Police Chief Brent Shatto says an officer pulled over a vehicle for speeding at the intersection of Highway 9 and 360th Avenue and that he could smell marijuana as he approached it. A subsequent investigation turned up marijuana, marijuana wax and drug paraphernalia.
The driver, 38-year-old David Astello of Estherville, was charged with possession with intent to deliver marijuana and marijuana wax; possession of marijuana…3rd offense, failure to affix a drug tax stamp and possession of drug paraphernalia. Astello was booked into the Emmet county jail on an $8,000 cash only bond.
The Emmet County Sheriff’s Office assisted in making the arrest.
