(Estherville)– Officials in Emmet county say they’ll be conducting an unscheduled test of the county’s outdoor warning sirens Monday, March 9th. The test will be conducted at 11:00 am and officials say sirens throughout Emmet county, including those in Estherville, Gruver, Wallingford, Armstrong and in county parks will be going off at that time. They emphasize it’s only a test and that there’s no action the public needs to take.
They also say the test will be postponed in the event of a threat of severe weather.
Emmet County Emergency Management Coordinator Travis Sheridan says the test is necessary due to new equipment that was recently installed in the county’s dispatch center.
