We just thought this would be a fun way to kick off some of the outdoor exercise.”

Preston says walks will be held at varying times throughout the day Friday at different locations throughout Emmet county…(click here for comment.) “The first one is at the Regional Wellness Center at 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.; the Estherville Public Library square at 11:30, 12:15 and 1:00 p.m.; the ELC High School track at noon; Avera Holy Family Hospital at 11:30 and 12:30; and the Emmet County Nature Center is at 11:00 a.m., noon and 1:00 p.m.; and then in Armstrong at the high school at 3:05 p.m.”

“It is just a group that has gotten together that has a special interest in wellness and we have several walks that are coming up that we hope to do this summer yet. We have just different inititiatives we’re trying to do to increase the well being of people in our county.”

Organizers of Friday’s walks say there’s no need to pre-register—participants can just show up at the designated sites and times and check in with the walk leader.
