Emmet County Pursuit Results In Arrest

November 22, 2014

(Estherville)– A pursuit Thursday in Emmet county resulted in the arrest of a Jackson, Minnesota resident on several charges, including an outstanding warrant.

The Emmet County Sheriff’s Office says it all started around 5:20 p.m. when a dueputy on routine patrol on Highway 9 east of Estherville came upon a line of cars behind another vehicle that were all traveling eastbound. Upon investigating the deputy noticed the lead vehicle was crossing the center line and at times crossing completely into the westbound lane.

Upon the deputy activating his warning lights to stop the vehicle, the driver turned southbound onto a gravel road, eventually stopping south of Ryan Lake. When the deputy approached the vehicle, the driver took off again to County Road A33 where it turned east. The vehicle then traveled about a half mile before it stopped again. The deputy then blocked the vehicle with his patrol car to prevent a forward escape.

Upon investigating, the driver of the suspect vehicle, 33-year-old Jamie Gilmore of Jackson, Minnesota, was arrested and charged with operating while intoxicated. Gilmore was also wanted on an outstanding warrant out of Dickinson county for failure to appear for theft in the 4th degree.

Gilmore was booked into the Emmet county jail without incident.
