(Wallingford)– Multiple injuries were reported this (Friday) morning in a single-vehicle crash on Highway 4 in Wallingford.
The Emmet County Sheriff’s Office says 19-year-old Nathan Howard of Estherville was driving a 2009 Dodge pickup northbound when he lost control. The vehicle traveled into the west ditch and struck a driveway. It then became airborne and collided with a tree, coming to rest on the passenger side on the southbound lane of the highway.
Howard and four passengers, 19-year-old Natalie Reardon of Jackson, Minnesota; 18-year-old Tyler Shryock of Estherville; 18-year-old Casey Origer of Estherville and 17-year-old Rebecca Richter of Bancroft were transported to Avera Holy Family Hospital in Estherville. There was no immediate word on the extent of their injuries or conditions.
The pickup was totaled.
The Emmet County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on the scene by the Wallinford Fire Department and First Responders, the Estherville Police and Fire Departments and the Estherville Ambulance Service.
Authorities say the crash, which took place shortly after 2:30 a.m., is still under investigation.
