(Estherville)– A two-vehicle crash Thursday in Emmet county sent two people to the hospital.
The Emmet County Sheriff’s Office says 20-year-old Jeffrey Petrich of Graettinger was driving a 1991 Dodge southbound on Highway 4 when he collided with the rear of a 1998 Chevrolet pickup driven by 63-year-old Arthur Behnke of Estherville. Authorities say Behnke had slowed and was attempting to turn into a driveway when the collision occurred.
Both Behnke and Petrich were taken by ambulance to Avera Holy Family Hospital in Estherville for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
The Dodge driven by Petrich sustained an estimated $5,000 while the Chevrolet pickup driven by Behnke sustained about $2,500 in damage.
The Emmet County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Wallingford Fire and Rescue, the Iowa Department of Transportation and Emmet County Emergency Management.
The collision took place shortly before 11:30 a.m.
