Emmet County Authorities Release Details Into Recent Arrests

(Estherville)– Authorities in Emmet county have released details into some arrests made in recent weeks.

The first happened back on December 22nd of last year when the Sheriff’s Office investigated a report of a vehicle in the ditch in the 5000 block of Highway 9. A deputy discovered a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle. The driver, 28-year-old Branden Torgerson of Blue Earth, Minnesota, was arrested and charged possession of marijuana…1st offense, possession of drug paraphernalia and no valid driver’s license. Torgerson was additionally charged with possession of contraband in a correctional institution after a search of Torgerson while he was being booked into jail turned up additional marijuana.

The other arrest took place during a traffic stop January 12th in the 1100 block of Highway 4. A deputy pulled over a vehicle driven by 64-year-old Debra Wessling of Terril and observed what was believed to be drug paraphernalia. Further investigation led to the discovery of controlled substances and additional drug paraphernalia. Wessling was arrested and charged with driving with a suspended license, possession of a controlled substance…marijuana…2nd offense, possession of methamphetamine…2nd offense, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
