(Estherville)– A 5 mph no wake rule is now in effect for all lakes and rivers in Emmet county due to the extremely high water levels. The county’s Emergency Management Commission adopted the measure during a meeting today (Tues.).
Officials say it’s intended to prevent further damage to property caused by erosion.
Violation of the rule may result in fines, court costs and surcharges of $95.25 for each violation.
