Emergency Management: Burn Ban May Not Be Lifted Even If It Does Rain

November 22, 2014

(Spirit Lake)– Rain is in the forecast over the upcoming weekend. But officials say even if we do get some, it won’t automatically result in the burn ban being lifted.

That word from Dickinson County Emergency Management Coordinator Mike Ehret.

He says some people are under the false impression the ban will be lifted the instant it rains.

Ehret says an official notification will be given when and if the decision is made to lift the ban.

He says that’s going to depend heavily on just how much rain does fall and on future forecasts.
