(Estherville)– The Estherville Lincoln Central School District will be conducting an active intruder training exercise Tuesday (Sept. 27th). All students will be asked to respond during the live scenario.
A press release issued by the district says a mock intruder will enter either the ELC High school and/or Middle School building. Students will evacuate and the Estherville Police Department will also be onsite during the drill.
The release goes on to say that Elementary students will be practicing evacuation strategies during the drill, but the actual event will not be at that building.
School officials say the drill is part of the mandated drill that must be conducted by school systems, such as tornado and fire drills.
