(Estherville)-A special New Year’s Eve Fundraiser is on tap in Estherville. KUOO’s Becky Thoreson has details:
The ELC Foundation will host a Gatsby Gala on New Year’s Eve.
Foundation President Tracy Ross says this is their primary fundraiser of the year. “So, every fall we used to do our big annual fundraiser, but as we all know that fall gets so busy that time of year, we kind of started to see reduced attendance. So, we went back to the drawing board this year and decided that New Year’s Eve there doesn’t seem to always be a lot to do, at least around Estherville, so we thought, why not have a big party? We decided just to do a little theme party, just keep it really fun, get people out and about, something to do, but it also goes towards a great cause, as well, because it is our primary fundraiser for the year.”
She adds that the event will feature live music. “We have the Dillon Gaige Band out of Nebraska that’ll be joining us. He’s played a few shows around like the Sutherland and Paulina areas before. He usually gets the crowd going pretty good. We also have a really big raffle item that we have this year. It is a one week stay at Las Palmeras Resort at The Hilton in Orlando. We’ll be selling those raffle tickets until March 1st when we’ll be doing our drawing.”
The event will be held at The Elks Lodge in Estherville New Year’s Eve starting at 6:30.
