(Spencer)—Eight young ladies will be in the running for Clay County Fair Queen in a competition to be held at 7:00 p.m. this coming Sunday, April 14th at the Regional Events Center in Spencer.
Contestants include Shena Geisinger of Peterson, 16-year-old daughter of Eric and Ann Geisinger; Jordan Hansen of Spencer, 15-year-old daughter of Curt and Julie Hansen; Shelby Johnson of Royal, 17-year-old daughter of Jim and Dee Johnson; Katlyn Moore of Spencer, 16-year-old daughter of Joe and Kelly Kuehler; Renee Nehring of Royal, 15-year-old daughter of Dwayne and Vicki Nehring; Suneva Neilson of Albert City, 16-year-old daughter of Mark and Angie Nielson; Lauren Schwarck of Spencer, 17-year-old daughter of Kurt and Julie Schwarck; and Madison Schwenneker of Spencer, 15-year-old daughter of Tim and Kristin Schwenneker.
Candidates will be judged on personality, attitude and awareness, leadership and citizenship, contribution to the community, overall appearance, charm, poise and self-expression.
Each candidate will receive a gift package of items from local businesses.
The first runner-up will receive a number of special prizes, including $500 in cash.
This year’s pageant will include a recognition of former Clay County Fair Queens.
