Early Voting Now Underway For Nov. 8th Election

October 19, 2022 Steve Schwaller

(Spirit Lake)– Early voting for the November 8th election got underway today (Wed.). Jordan Moyer of the Dickinson County Auditor’s Office says November 7th is the last day you can do that. She says Dickinson county residents can do that at the Auditor’s Office at the courthouse in Spirit Lake…

“We have a table out front that we’re actually trying out this year to see if it’s just a little bit easier where you fill out your papers outside and sign the envelope that you need that your ballot goes in. We’re making it just a little bit easier so it’s not so crowded in our Election Room.”

Moyer adds absentee ballots requested through the mail are also now going out…

“We actually sent out over 600 ballots this morning and we still are having requests trickle in, you know, people that are going south for the winter and people that are going down for school as, well, that aren’t around here. So we do have that, we mailed those out this morning, and the last day we can mail those out is the 24th. So if you do want to request it to be mailed to you we do need to have that request in our office by the 24th. And it is, unfortunately, too late for us to mail you out the absentee request form. I know some people don’t have access to a printer, but we do have those available on our front desk.”

Moyer says mail-in requests for absentee ballots appear to be up somewhat from previous elections.
