Early Voting Getting Underway On School Bond Referendum At Martin County West

September 22, 2023 Steve Schwaller

(Sherburn, Mn.)– Early voting gets underway today (Fri.) for a bond referendum in the Martin County West Community School District. Early voting can be done in person at the district office at the elementary school in Sherburn from 7:30 am until 4:00 pm on weekdays between now and election day. Absentee ballots by mail may be requested by calling the district office.

Voters in the Martin County West district will decide the fate of a $63 million bond issue for a new facility that would serve students in preschool through 12th grade. A separate ballot measure is for a $9 million auditorium and an additional gym for the new school. District officials say the second question can only pass if voters approve the first referendum.

The actual election day is Tuesday, November 7th.

A press release says the district will also be holding informational meetings in Sherburn, Trimont, Welcome and Dunnell in October.
