(Spencer)– While the Iowa Great Lakes and points north dodged a bullet when it came to severe weather early Tuesday, that certainly was NOT the case for areas to the south.
Paul Kassel, a Crops Specialist with the Iowa State University Extension Service, tells KUOO news there was significant crop damage in portions of O’Brien, Clay, Palo Alto and Kossuth counties…Click here to hear mp3 file
Kassel says some producers in those areas will experience significant yield reductions as a result…Click here to hear mp3 file
Outside of areas affected by the storms, Kassel says crop conditions range from very good to excellent.
He adds producers should be on the lookout for aphids in corn. He says treatment may be necessary where the populations are extremely high.
