(Arnolds Park)– Early bird registration for the University of Okoboji Oktoberfest is winding down. Kiley Zankowski of the Iowa Great Lakes Chamber of Commerce says only a few days are left to take advantage of the lower registration cost for the September 24th events…
“There’s just a little bit more time left to get that early bird discount of $30 for your registration. On September 12th that will be the last day to get that $30 registration because the price will go up to $35 on September 13th. You will also be guaranteed a shirt if you purchase your registration after September 13th, so we highly encourage you to get your registration in while the price is good and the shirt is guaranteed.”
She says a full day of events will be on tap…
“We’ll have a really fun, festive bike ride with a lot of stops along the route. You get a t-shirt, a festive t-shirt, and a drink ticket for you to enjoy when you get back to Preservation Plaza. That bike ride will kick off at 10:00 in the morning, and also kicking off at 10:00 are free inflatables for kids to enjoy and a large vendor show for all sorts of shopping. From 12:00 to 4:00 we’ll have free music from Shirts and Skins on the large stage at Preservation Plaza, and about every hour we’ll have different free activities for people to enjoy from the keg toss competition to the stein holding competition, hammerschlagen, there’s just so much to enjoy, for you to do and celebrate Oktoberfest. We also will want to register for the bean bag tournament sponsored by KUOO in advance as well. That will kick off at 1:00. Just a really fun tournament and a day filled with fun all day long.”
