(Jackson, Mn.)—The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an incident in which a car went into Clear Lake west of Jackson. The driver, 23-year-old Cassidy Voss of Lakefield, was found inside the partially submerged vehicle. Voss was pronounced dead.
Deputies say Voss had been driving a 2005 Mazda westbound on Jackson County Road 10 and failed to negotiate a curve. The vehicle went into the south ditch and struck an approach leading to the lakeshore. It then vaulted into some trees and came to rest next in the lake next to a dock.
Authorities aren’t sure when the crash actually took place. They were called to the scene on the northeast side of Clear Lake shortly before 7:00 p.m. Friday.
The vehicle was totaled.
The Minnesota State Patrol and the Lakefield Police Department assisted on the scene.
