(Sibley)– More than a dozen dogs have been seized from a breeder in Osceola county.
The 14 dogs were seized Monday in Melvin by officials from the Siouxland Humane Society. All the dogs had to be vaccinated, checked over and washed for lice.
The name of the breeder isn’t being released, as no charges have been filed. But Jerry Dominicak, Director of the Siouxland Humane Society, says it’s frustrating because this is the second time the breeder has had some of its dogs seized. He says the USDA is trying to get the breeder to reduce its number of dogs to bring it into compliance with regulations.
Some of the dogs were expected to be ready for adoption as early as today (Tuesday).
