(Jackson, Mn.)– A dilapidated building in Jackson may be coming down soon. City officials say the structure, known as the “Alamo Building” has become a safety hazard. Owners of a Jackson business, A & B Laser Engraving, want to demolish the building and put up a new one on the site. The city council this week gave the go ahead allowing the city’s Revolving Loan Fund Committee to negotiate terms of an agreement with the business. David Schmidt, the city’s Economic Development Director, told the council they want to get the project underway as soon as possible…
Schmidt says they’re hoping to get the building torn down in the next couple of weeks or so. Bricks have been reportedly falling from the building and officials say there’s a large hole on the second floor.
