(Spirit Lake)– The Dickinson county board of supervisors Tuesday adopted a resolution setting August 7th as the date for a bond sale of not to exceed $10 million in General Obligation bonds for a construction project at Lakes Regional Healthcare.
In other business, they opted not to accept a $100,000 offer on the former DHS building; they awarded a bid of $54,500 from Heifner Construction of Estherville to replace decking on a recreational trail bridge over Minnewashta and Lower Gar Lakes; and they decided to form a committee to interview candidates for County Attorney. It will consist of two members from the board of supervisors; two or three former County Attorneys; and a member of the public. The supervisors could appoint someone to fill the unexpired term of Jason Carlstrom who will be stepping down in early September, but seemed in favor Tuesday of going with interviews, then making an appointment. A special election would be held in the event someone who files a petition with the required number of signatures within 14 days of the appointment.
