(Milford)– The announcement of Milford as the first overnight stop on this year’s RAGBRAI route has local trails officials especially excited. Erin Reed of Dickinson County Trails says they are working closely with RAGBRAI officials and look forward to showcasing the local trail system to the thousands of people associated with the event…
“I’ve been in contact with Matt at RAGBRAI and we’ve been talking about potential routes and how we’re going to get people around through Spirit Lake and over to Estherville so we’re very excited about this opportunity to showcase the growth we’ve had here. It’s been 11 years since last time RAGBRAI was here and a lot has changed since then. It’ll be great to showcase our trails while all those bikers are in town and it can be a bit of a crazy time, but it’s so good for the community of Milford to have this opportunity and welcome all those bikers with open arms.”
Most RAGBRAI riders are avid cyclists and Reed says the goal is to get those people to return to the area in the future to enjoy the local trails as well as support the businesses in the area.
