Dickinson County Trail Board to hold Bikes, Brews & Bites Fundraiser July 22 at Maser Monarch Lodge

July 20, 2022 Becky Thoreson

(Okoboji)-A big fundraiser is on tap for the Dickinson County Trails this Friday. KUOO’s Becky Thoreson has details:

The Dickinson County Trail Board’s Summer Fundraiser will be held on Friday night at Maser Monarch Lodge.
Executive Director Erin Reed says, a full night of festivities is planned. “We’ll have live music and Back Alley Barbeque is catering it with some fantastic food. We have auction items and a big raffle that we are doing with Hope Rolls, we share the proceeds from that. That will have a $3,000 EBike for the grand prize, and a bunch of bike-related items for that. It should be a fun evening. We’re really looking forward to celebrating our trails.”
She notes that the Board has a number of projects in the works. “Of course, we’ve got the Tatanka Ska Trace Rail Trail that we’re working to connect with Lake Park, so that’s a big project. We’re looking at doing another 3 miles this fall, and then, bridging that gap of 2-1/2 miles between Montgomery and Lake Park next year. We’ve got the current project right now that’s running along Highway 86 that will connect the West Lake trails to our Rail Trail, and then gearing up for the Clay County connection coming up over the next couple of years, as well.”
