Dickinson County Traffic Stop Results In Drug Arrests

(Spirit Lake)– A traffic stop Sunday, November 18th in Dickinson county resulted in the arrests of three men on drug charges.

The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy conducted the stop in the 2000 block of County Road M-27 for a traffic violation. A subsequent investigation resulted in the arrest of the driver, 22-year-old Matthew Galvin of Lake Park, for allegedly operating while intoxicated.

An inventory of the vehicle resulted in the deputy finding what’s believed to be marijuana, drug paraphernalia and open containers of alcohol.

In addition to the OWI charge, Galvin was also charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, open container and excessive speed. He was booked into the Dickinson county jail on a $2,000 bond.

Two passengers were also arrested.

29-year-old Benjamin Irmiter of Lake Park was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and open container. He was booked into jail on a $1,000 bond.

And 24-year-old Nickolas Joens of Harris was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was also booked into jail on a $1,000 bond.

All three were released after posting the bonds.
