Dickinson County emergency management will resume the weekly tests of Outdoor Warning sirens in Dickinson County each Wednesday at noon, The agency also notes that there are two new sirens on Big Spirit Lake to better warn people of approaching severe weather.

One of the sirens is located at the corner of 240th Avenue and 125th Street and covers the Marble Beach Campground. The other siren is installed on the East side of Big Spirit and will cover the Jones Pasture area. Additional outdoor warning sirens are expected to be installed this year in Montgomery, West Okoboji and Superior as siren expansion in Dickinson County continues.
Emergency Management also notes that Severe Weather Awareness Week in Iowa, is scheduled April 2nd thru the 6th. Activities for that week include a statewide Tornado drill on April 4th, and recognition of the city of Orleans as StormReady by the Sioux Falls National Weather Service on April 9.
