Dickinson County Supervisors Approve Road Funding Agreement

November 22, 2023 Steve Schwaller

(Lake Park)– Improvements are in the works for a heavily traveled road in Lake Park. The Dickinson County Board of Supervisors Tuesday approved a funding agreement with the Iowa Department of Transportation on a project to re-pave County Road M-27 on the south side of Lake Park. County Engineer Cole Budach says the county will be getting some $900,000 in federal funding to put toward the project…

“We’re in the process of getting that ready to go to bid, I believe in March of this year. As part of the funding agreement on that $900,000, we’re just basically accepting that we’ll follow state and federal regulations when it comes to the project since we’re accepting that grant money and we’ll be using federal funds on it, so that is what the agreement lays out there.”

Budach says the total cost of the project has been estimated at $2.5 million…

“That $900,000 will go to supplement towards that and then the rest of it will be between Dickinson county and the city of Lake Park.”

Budach didn’t give a timeframe as to when the project would be getting underway.
