(Spirit Lake)– The Dickinson county board of supervisors have agreed to a request from the city of Terril in efforts to try to reduce the cost of a sanitary sewer project.
County Engineer Dan Eckert told the supervisors Tuesday that allowing construction crews to open cut County Road A-48 to install a new sewer main will save the city about $31,000 compared to the cost of boring the line under the road.
The city is installing a new sanitary sewer system with a lagoon.
Eckert says that while the road is scheduled to be re-surfaced, that the open cut should be done prior to that.
