(Spirit Lake)– The Dickinson county board of supervisors Tuesday approved changes to some of the county’s “Level B” service routes as presented by the County Engineer.
Certain roads that aren’t used for bus routes or have anyone living along them receive the classification, meaning they are minimum maintenance, or don’t have snow plowed during the winter.
The supervisors approved restoring portions of several roads to “Level A” service, meaning they will have maintenance, including snow removal, restored. The affected areas include a half-mile stretch of 160th Avenue south of County Road A-34 and a half-mile stretch of 170th Avenue south of County Road A-34…both for the Horizon Wind Farm; and a mile and-a-half stretch of 170th Street off of Highway 86 for a new home.
The supervisors also Tuesday approved the placement of 25 mile-per-hour speed limit signs in the East Okoboji Beach area, with 15 mile-per-hour advisory signs on curves.
