Dickinson County Opts To Stay With Concrete Only For Some Paving Projects

November 22, 2014

(Spirit Lake)—Dickinson county officials say they aren’t interested in changing specifications to allow for asphalt paving in some upcoming road projects.

The manager of a regional asphalt paving company was at Tuesday’s Dickinson county board of supervisors meeting requesting the county reconsider its decision to not include asphalt paving as an option on some upcoming paving projects. The county is specking re-surfacing projects on portions of the Clark Museum Road, old highway 71 and 242nd Avenue for concrete only. The supervisors voted recently to change the specks to concrete only, citing longevity. They reaffirmed their action Tuesday.
