Dickinson County Opts Out Of Reimbursement Program After Hearing From Service Provider

(Spirit Lake)– Acting on a request from a service provider, the Dickinson county board of supervisors Tuesday voted unanimously for the county to get out of a state-run program that partially reimburses for expenses associated with prevention treatment programs.

The supervisors took the action after hearing from Mary Sloan, a spokesperson with Compass Pointe, which provides such programs to Dickinson and several other counties in northwest Iowa. Sloan told the supervisors that by opting out of the program, Dickinson county will now send the $15,000 a year in allocated funding directly to Compass Pointe, instead of the state…Click here to hear mp3 file

Sloan says as of Tuesday, Clay, Emmet and Palo Alto counties had also dropped out of the reimbursement program.
