(Okoboji)-It’s time to register for Summer Camps at The Dickinson County Nature Center. KUOO’s Becky Thoreson has details:
The Dickinson County Nature Center will open registration for summer camps on Friday, March 1.
Community Relations Coordinator Amy Heibult says a number of different camps will be offered. “Our summer camp theme this year is actually Nature Friends. We have a bunch of different programs that are offered to youth in pre-school or going into pre-school all the way up to 9th grade. We have a lot of fun camps planned around that Nature Friends theme. So, we have Pollinator Playmates and Beaver Buddies, Adventure Amigos and Camping Companions. We always encourage campers to get dirty and ask questions and explore during our camps.”
She notes that the camps fill up quickly. “Our camp registration opens here on March 1st at 8 a.m., and camps fill up really quickly. Our younger camps tend to fill up first so be prepared for that. To register, go out to our website at dickinsoncountynature.com. You can click the programs and events page and that will take you to our events list. There is a filter on there that you can just do summer camps to have all of those available, and you’ll see all of our June and July camps as well as some of our partnership camps.”
