(Okoboji) The Dickinson County Nature Center is hosting a free event called Nature Night Out on Friday February 13th from 6:30 to 8:00. Amy Heibult, Community Relations Coordinator at the Nature Center, tells KUOO News that it will be a fun filled night…
“We have a fun kind of a date night for Valentine’s Day for any adults 18 and older. We will also provide childcare for any three year olds or older that are fully potty trained. We do have limited spaces available, so don’t wait on getting signed up, but our adults will be having some couples time over at the Mesa Monarch Lodge. They’ll be learning more about Dutch oven cooking, both the equipment and technique of cooking with Dutch ovens. They’ll also get to make some sweet treats like chocolate cherry lava cake and peach cobbler cake.”
Heibult talks about what you can expect during the evening…
“Kids will be over at the nature center, so adults will be having a quiet time together. We also have, uh, like a home decor craft plan for adults where they can gather some natural materials to make a heart shaped home decor item together and enjoy just a new memory together. While we have some fun with the kiddos over here at the Nature Center, we’ll be playing in Pollinator Paradise, making some Valentine’s Day cards, and then they’ll also be meeting some of our live animals here at the Nature Center.” The event is designed for adults who are looking for a fun and free date night that is distraction free. Adults and children must be registered to attend which you can do at dickinsoncountyconservationboard.com. Registration will be open until 5:00 pm on February 11th.
