(Spirit Lake)– The Dickinson County Endowment Fund Advisory council is accepting applications for its 2012 grant cycle.
Grants are awarded to non-profit groups with a 501 (C) (3) designation through the IRS and unit of goverment organizations benefiting residents of Dickinson county. Non-profit groups without either status may apply by seeking a fiscal agent that does.
Funds may be requested within the Dickinson County Endowment Fund’s project focus areas which include conservation, economic development, family services, housing, natural resources, recreation, transportation and youth services.
$100,000 will be available for distribution in 2012.
Grant forms are available on line at www.dcefund.org/grant.html and must be submitted by June 30th. A 9-member advisory council will then review the applications.
A grant workshop will be held Thursday, May 17th at the Arnolds Park city hall.
The Dickinson County Endowment Fund Advisory Council was formed in 2005 to coordinate and provide philanthropic support for community projects in Dickinson county. The fund was created in response to legislation in 2004 and receives state funding from gaming proceeds in addition to donations from local residents, businesses and organizations.
To date, nearly $600,000 has been awarded to projects throughout Dickinson county.
