Dickinson County Democrats Opt Not To Nominate Candidate For County Recorder

(Okoboji)– The Dickinson County Democratic party has opted not to nominate a candidate from that party for the County Recorder position. The action was taken during a special nominating convention Monday evening. Supporters of a petition calling for the merger of the County Recorder and Auditor’s offices have until 5:00 p.m. Friday to come up with the required number of signatures to put the issue on the ballot with the November General Election. They say combining the two offices would save taxpayers money. Opponents say the level of service in the offices would suffer and that any savings would be worth the inconvenience.
