(Okoboji)– The Dickinson County Conservation Board is holding one of its largest events of the year today (Fri.).
Dee’s Bee and Butterfly Festival will be going on from 4:00 until 7:00 pm at the Dickinson County Nature Center. The event features crafts and activities along with some magic shows at the amphitheater at 4:30 and 6:30 pm.
There will also be a demonstration by Marlene Boernson, owner of Boernson Bees, on how honey is extracted from beehives beginning at 5:30 pm by the gazebo near the Maser Monarch Lodge.
Some monarch butterflies will also be tagged and released, and some vendors and a food truck will be available.
