November 22, 2014

(Spirit Lake)—A committee that’s been assigned to look at possible efficiencies that could be realized through a merger of two Dickinson county offices continues to meet. To achieve this they want to make sure that we assure that high quality and cost effectiveness in the service delivery to the taxpayers of Dickinson county is maintained the way it is today.”

Perry says the committee meets every two weeks and that they have a couple of meetings left before they’ll be ready to make any recommendations to the board of supervisors…(click here for comment.) “We have met with the Recorder and the Auditor and we had them share with us things that take place in their office and we’ve gone through it with them and we’ve had a little historical perspective of both offices and have done things to look at where they might be going in the future.”

The committee consists of three Republicans and three Democrats along with the Auditor and Recorder.
