(Spirit Lake)– The Dickinson County Board of Supervisors this (Tues.) morning voted to contribute $10,000 to show local support for a $1 million Community Attraction and Tourism, or CAT Grant, that’s being applied for to help support construction of the Aspen Seemann Memorial Park near the Spirit Lake Schools. The Spirit Lake City Council will consider a similar request at their meeting this (Tues.) evening. Supervisor Jeff Thee said the project would be a boost to efforts to bring younger people into the area…
Fellow supervisor Tim Fairchild said he also is very much in favor of the project, but said he wanted some latitude in the length of time the county has to make the contribution…
The supervisors approved a stipulation that the $10,000 contribution be paid over the next three budget years at their discretion.
