Dickinson Co. Character Counts Help Clean-Up Lakes Area Attraction

November 22, 2014

(Arnolds Park)– Dickinson County Character Counts is doing its part again to make sure various attractions around the Iowa Great Lakes area cleaned up and ready for another season of visitors.

Kim Wermersen, President of Dickinson County Character Counts, says they are once again conducting their “30 Days to an Even More Beautiful Dickinson County” project.

Wermersen says volunteers from every community in the county are urged to team up with schools, churches, organizations and neighborhoods to clean up and beautify the county.

Wermersen says they’re kicking off the month-long project by partnering with ArtsLIVE and the Arnolds Park Amusement Park this Saturday, May 9th from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. for their “Volunteers In The Park” project. Wermersen says participants will help out with grounds work, store clean-up, and so on. Participants are asked to bring a rake with them. A lunch will be served.

Wermersen invites any organization to share the successes of beautification projects they’ve been involved in as well. You can do that by contacting Carol Caviness at the Iowa Great Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce at 332-2107.
