Dickinson Co. Bd. Of Adjustment Approves Conditional Use Permit For RV Park At Former Woodlyn Hills Golf Course

June 07, 2022 Steve Schwaller

(Spirit Lake)– Plans to build an R-V park at the former Woodlyn Hills Golf Course east of Milford have been given a green light to move ahead. The Dickinson County Board of Adjustment Monday evening approved a conditional use permit for the project on a 3-2 vote. A number of conditions will need to be met, though, including one requiring the park connect to public sewer once it becomes available within 200 feet of the property. They would have to do that within a year of availability, provided capacity is available. In the meantime, the facility will be served by a private sewer system that will be required to be inspected on a regular basis by state certified inspectors. Operators of the R-V park will also be required to have a full-time manager living on the site, and the operations will be strictly seasonal, running from April 15th through October 15th. Those are just a few of a long list of conditions that were included.

Plans for the 174 site R-V park drew opposition from those living in some nearby residential developments concerned over noise, trash, smoke and other potential issues.

Monday evening’s meeting was a continuation of one held in April, when public comments were taken.
