(Spencer)—A Dickens man faces a murder charge in connection with the death of a Spencer man last year.
Spencer police say 23-year-old Chase Foote turned himself in yesterday on the warrant, charging him with murder in the 2nd degree…a class “B” felony.
Police Chief Mark Lawson says the warrant was issued as a result of the State Medical Examiner’s autopsy report on the death of Jefferson Wilbur of Spencer.
The two men had been involved in a physical altercation on September 2nd of last year in the 200 block of Grand Avenue in Spencer in which Wilbur sustained severe head injuries. He died of those injuries November 12th at a Sioux Falls hospital.
Foote is being held in the Clay county jail.
