(Primghar)– Authorities have released details into a crash late last month on Highway 59 in O’Brien county that injured both drivers, sending one of them to the hospital.
The Sheriff’s Office says 34-year-old Marcus Jones of Bellevue, Nebraska was driving a 2020 Freightliner southbound and 31-year-old Lee Brownmiller of Ocheyedan was driving a 2022 Peterbilt semi northbound. Deputies say the truck driven by Jones crossed the center line and collided head-on with the semi driven by Brownmiller.
Jones sustained minor injuries and was taken by ambulance to the Sheldon hospital. Authorities say Brownmiller also sustained minor injuries but wasn’t taken to the hospital.
Damage to the box truck driven by Jones was estimated at $60,000; damage to the semi driven by Brownmiller was put at $120,000. Jones was cited for failure to maintain control.
