Des Moines Man Accused Of Showing Up Drunk For Drunk Driving Sentencing Hearing

November 22, 2014

(Emmetsburg)– A Des Moines man faces a new charge after allegedly showing up drunk Wednesday at the Palo Alto county courthouse for a hearing on a drunk driving charge.

The Sheriff’s Office says 50-year-old Earl Pedersen was arrested for public intoxication after getting a call from the Clerk of Court’s Office reporting Pedersen had allegedly showed up drunk for sentencing on a third offense operating while intoxicated charge.

Court officials claim they could smell alcohol on Pedersen’s breath. He was subsequently arrested and booked into jail on a charge of public intoxication.
