(Spencer)– City officials in Spencer say the clean up continues there from Monday night’s derecho.
According to a press release, contractors and city crews have cleared about 45 percent of debris from residential areas and 30 percent of the right-of-way debris had been cleared as of Friday evening.
City officials say contractors will be making multiple passes clearing debris with critical safety concerns removed first. They add that stump grinding in the right of way will begin once all the debris is cleared.
Both tree sites in Spencer remain open for use by the public: the north side is for residential and commercial disposal while the East Leach Park site is for residential disposal only.
Anyone still needing to report damage in Spencer should contact City Hall at 712-580-7200.
