(Heron Lake, Mn.)—Dense fog was said to be a contributing factor in a collision this (Fri.) morning involving two semis on Highway 60 at Heron Lake.
The Minnesota State Patrol says the semis, driven by 36-year-old Robert Sharits of Tea, South Dakota and 69-year-old Darrell Schipper of Fulda, collided at the intersection of Highway 60 and a city street.
Schipper was taken by ambulance to Sanford Hospital in Worthington where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
No injuries were reported to Sharits.
Severe damage was reported to both semis.
The State Patrol was assisted on the scene by the Heron Lake Police Department, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, the Heron Lake Fire Department and ambulance, and the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
The collision took place shortly before 10:00 a.m.
