(Dallas, Tx.)– An Okoboji-Spirit Lake High School debater advanced to the semi-finals of the National Forensic League National Tournament in Congressional Debate in Dallas, Texas Wednesday.
Connor Ave is one of 48 Senators to advance out of more than 4,000 who started the process at district tournaments around the country and world. Five foreign countries, including Puerto Rico and Quam, had students in the tournament.
Jack Ave, who was also competing in Congressional Debate, did not advance, but did make the top 100 in the nation and is participating in supplemental events.
Connor and Jack are brothers. Connor is a senior, while Jack is a sophomore.
