(Des Moines)– The deadline in which to apply for assistance through the Federal Emergency Management Agency for damage associated flooding and severe weather from June 16th through July 23rd of this year is quickly approaching. It’s October 22nd.
Those who sustained flood related damage or storm-caused expenses or are self-employed and live in Buena Vista, Cherokee, Clay, Dickinson, Emmet, Humboldt, Lyon, Monona, O’Brien, Osceola, Palo Alto, Plymouth, Pottawattamie, Scott, Sioux and Woodbury counties are eligible to apply. Grants help cover temporary housing, home repairs and other disaster related needs. U.S. Small Business Administration provides loans to help cover home repairs and other disaster-related need along with business impacts.
