(Milford)– Dates have been set for four public informational meetings for a $69 million bond issue voters in the Okoboji Community School District will be voting on November 5th. Superintendent Todd Abrahamson says the first will be held this coming Wednesday, September 4th from 6:00 until 7:00 pm at the Okoboji Elementary School…

“It will be myself, the school board, Klinger, our construction management firm, CO-OP, our architects, the principals, we’ll have Piper Sandler Tim Oswald there. He will not be present for the first meeting, he has a conflict, but the other three which are all on a Wednesday so September 4th, September 25th, October 2nd and then October 23rd. All 6:00 to 7:00 with tours to follow.”

The meetings September 4th and October 2nd will be at the Okoboji Elementary gym. The September 25th meeting will be held at the Okoboji High School Auditorium. The location for the October 23rd session hasn’t been determined yet.

The bond issue, if approved by voters, would fund the construction of a new Elementary School on some land the district recently acquired at the intersection of County Road A-34 and 213th Avenue on the west edge of Milford. Abrahamson says they’re looking at a facility that would be somewhere between 100,000 and 110,000 square feet in size.

The bond would also provide financing for a number of enhancements and additions at Okoboji High School.
