(Spencer)– The Clay County Auditor’s Office has set Tuesday, April 28th as the date for a special election to fill the Ward 5 vacancy on the Spencer City Council. The council earlier this week voted to fill the vacancy by special election.
Eligible candidates wishing to be on the ballot can begin filing papers immediately at the Clay County Auditor’s Office. There must be at least 50 signatures on the nomination petition and an affidavit of candidacy also needs to be completed.
The deadline to file papers is 5:00 pm Friday, April 3rd.
